The San Marco Spritz is like a Venetian adventure in a glass—bright, bubbly, and full of character! Imagine yourself soaking up the sun in St. Mark’s Square, surrounded by the buzz of cafés, live music, and the shimmer of the Grand Canal in the distance. This cocktail brings the party with its zesty blood orange, a kiss of sweet vanilla, and that effervescent sparkle from Mr SYLTBAR Premium Brut Prosecco. It’s the perfect drink to toast life’s grand moments—or simply to pretend you’re on an Italian getaway, no passport required!
Remember; we always suggest to use freshly squeezed juice whenever possible. Fresh-squeezed blood orange juice delivers a vibrant, tangy-sweet flavor that pre packaged juices can’t match. It also provides that gorgeous ruby hue, full of natural brightness and depth that feels like a splash of Venetian sunshine in every sip. Bottled juice often contains preservatives or lacks the fresh, zesty oils from the peel, which are key to creating a truly rich and lively cocktail experience.
We also recommend creating your own simple syrup from scratch. Homemade vanilla simple syrup adds a layer of warmth and complexity to your spritz. Unlike store-bought syrups, which can taste overly sweet or artificial, making it from scratch lets you control the intensity and use real vanilla. The natural sweetness and aromatic depth of homemade syrup perfectly complement the citrusy tang of the blood orange and the sparkling effervescence of Prosecco.
This cocktail is a perfect balance of sweet and citrusy flavors with just a hint of herbal depth, transporting you to a sunny afternoon in St. Mark’s Square.

Recipe Note
*To make homemade vanilla simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Wait until the syrup cools and then add 1 ½ tsp of pure vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely and bring it to a gentle simmer. Remove from heat and let it steep for 15-20 minutes to intensify the vanilla flavor. Transfer the syrup to a clean jar or bottle. This can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
