Spring is just about here, and that means it’s time for all things floral, light and airy, fresh and clean! Spring is often associated with ideals of rebirth and renewal, love, hope, and growth. These themes resonate well with us at SYLTBAR. We have certainly seen a lot of love and growth for our small wine brand in recent times, we have hope for this new year, 2021, in which there will be lots of rebirth and renewal for many companies that have had to pivot their business strategies because of the pandemic — us included.
As we ‘spring’ into a new season, we want to share some of the reasons why SYLTBAR wines are perfect for this time of year.
White Wine for Spring
White wine is a go-to in the springtime due to its refreshing and crisp flavors. Light white wines, like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, have aromas and tasting notes that remind us of spring — think florals and peaches. These wines usually also pair well with fresh seafood and light appetizers that we enjoy as the weather warms up.

This is due to the area’s prime growing conditions: its drastic contrast in temperature from day to night increases complexity, flavor and aromas, the surrounding mountains on one side help to block storms, while the breeze from the sea on the other side helps the grapes ripen. Soil is another important factor. The layers of marl and sandstone are what lend that minerality and salinity to white wines.
Sauvignon Blanc is to New Zealand as Friulano is to Italy. We’ve named our Friulano “Silk” for its elegance and sophistication. Silk is also a light, flowy material that breathes well and is ideal to wear during the warmer months, making the name even more appropriate for a wine that is perfect for drinking during the spring. Springtime Wine Serving Tips
At SYLTBAR, we take pride in the natural state of our wines. There is nothing added to our wines during production, making them much lower in sugar and sulfites than other commercial brands. That being said, we want to make sure you are getting the most out of your SYLTBAR experience, and can’t stress enough how important temperature is!
For optimal taste, each of our wines have an ideal serving temperature. As the weather warms up, it’s important to pay attention to your wine bottles, especially if you are drinking outside. Using an ice bucket is a great way to keep your wines chilled to ensure top quality drinking.
We recommend serving the Friulano and White Linen around 50-54°F, and our sparkling wines at around 45-49°F. We also highly recommend drinking sparkling wine from a white wine glass rather than a champagne flute, as this helps to enhance the flavor.
