Mrs Martin & Mr Blohm Episode 26: What if? Why not?
After Regina’s friend Evelyn had practically pushed her to finally open the main gate door for Mr. Blohm — even though Regina didn’t feel like it at all — she slowly walked toward the door.
She wasn’t feeling well. A cold was approaching. Her body felt weak, her head slightly heavy, and worst of all — she wasn’t even wearing makeup. Under normal circumstances, that alone would have been reason enough not to open the door.
But there she was.
Regina opened the door just a small gap.
White Jogging Pants & Forget-Me-Nots
And standing there was Mr. Blohm.
As if freshly hatched from an egg — perfectly put together — wearing white jogging pants and a light blue training jacket. In his right hand he held a baseball cap.
Inside the cap, something special.
The sky above Hamburg was clear blue. The sun was shining, but the air was still cold. It was one of those crisp days that invite you for a run around the Alster lake.
And that was exactly how Mr. Blohm looked — ready for his jog.
Evelyn hadn’t moved from her seat. She was still sitting at Regina’s large dining table, quietly observing the situation with growing curiosity.
Regina kept the door half closed. She did not intend to let Mr Blohm in.
Mr Blohm
“Hello, Mrs Martin. I thought it might be a good idea to bring you something that could help you feel better before I go jogging. Have a look at what I have here in my baseball cap.
The cap is not fashionable — not broken like yours was the first time we met — but still…”
He smiled.
“May I come in for a moment Mrs Martin?”
Regina hesitated.
All she could see was his white jogging pants — and she suddenly noticed something she had never really noticed before.
An incredibly attractive figure.
The only time she had briefly noticed his physique had been that winter evening when she encountered Mr Blohm barefoot in a white bathrobe on Sierichstraße, holding a golf club.
But that had only been minutes.
Now, standing before her, was this tall, athletic man in white pants and a light blue jacket. Awake eyes. Confident posture.
Between the small opening of the door, he handed her the baseball cap.
Inside:
Forget-me-not flowers.
Two lemons.
Fresh ginger.
Vitamin C tablets
Chamomile tea
Eucalyptus
From across the room, Evelyn leaned forward slightly, stretching her neck to see what was happening at the door.

The Language of Flowers
Regina was visibly surprised.
This gesture was thoughtful. Unexpected.
She opened the door a little wider and allowed Mr. Blohm to step inside.
Mrs Martin
“That is very kind of you, Mr Blohm. Thank you.”
Regina wanted to introduce him to Evelyn — but Mr. Blohm was faster.
He walked straight toward Evelyn and extended his hand.
“My name is Claus.”
Evelyn
“I’m Evelyn. Very nice to meet you, Claus. I’ve already heard so much about you — as Mr. Blohm.”
They shook hands.
Regina stood frozen for a moment.
What just happened?
She had known this man for almost four months. They were still Mrs Martin and Mr Blohm.
And within seconds, with her friend, he was suddenly Claus and Evelyn?
Did she hear correctly?
They had known each other for less than a minute.
Strange.
Fast.
And somehow… so surprising.
Regina glanced at Mr Blohm — and once again her eyes dropped to his white jogging pants.
Yes. There was no denying it.
He had a very sexy butt.
Mr. Blohm turned around and lifted his baseball cap.
Mr Blohm
“Please, have a look, Mrs Martin.”
He began pulling out more and more items.
“Chamomile tea. A lemon. An orange. Vitamin C. And eucalyptus — for a nice, healthy bath.
Have a warm bath, and you will feel much better soon. You’ll see.”

Evelyn smiled widely. She was genuinely happy for her friend Regina.
Somehow she had imagined Mr. Blohm differently — based on Regina’s descriptions.
But he appeared confident. Calm. Charming.
Regina was speechless.
This man — her neighbor — was always full of surprises.
Almost professional in his gestures.
Sometimes he had a karaoke machine in his car.
Then he lost his car key and needed her parking space.
Then he surprised her with a homemade Latino CD (yes, we are in 2005).
Then a four-course Michelin dinner.
Handwritten letters.
Single white roses.
It was time to say something.
An Italian Invitation
Mrs Martin
“That is truly thoughtful of you, Mr Blohm. Thank you very much. I’m sure I will feel better soon.”
Mr Blohm
“That is for sure, Mrs Martin. And you will see — later you might even feel well enough to go out with your friend tonight and show her Hamburg.
Do you already have plans?”
Regina answered immediately.
“We don’t have plans yet. We might go out for dinner and have a little bite — depending on how I feel.”
Without hesitation, Mr. Blohm replied:
“I know a very cozy, beautiful little Italian restaurant. The best in Hamburg when it comes to Italian food. Small place — very hard to get a reservation. But I know the owner, Carlo. I’m sure he can arrange something for you two. I will call him right away.”

Evelyn’s eyes lit up.
Regina’s did not.
She did not want Mr. Blohm to intrude on her evening with her friend.
But before she could respond, he was already dialing.
He stepped out onto the terrace, into the sunlit garden.
The terrace door remained slightly open.
Regina and Evelyn could hear everything.
Evelyn leaned toward Regina and whispered:
“This Mr. Blohm is really sympathetic. Why don’t we take him with us tonight?”
Regina shook her head firmly.
“Absolutely not, Evelyn. I want to spend the evening alone with you.”
Too late.
Mr. Blohm had overheard and turned toward Evelyn and Mrs. Martin.
“I have no plans tonight,” he said smoothly.
“I would love to join you both for a typical Italian dinner. Perfect, Carlo,” he added into the phone, responding to the owner of La Tana. “Please prepare a table for three at 8 p.m.”
He hung up.
Then he walked back into the studio.
Confident. Calm.
Mr Blohm
“This went very well. We have a table for tonight. What a lucky man I am — taking two ladies out for dinner. I’m sure it will be a unique evening.
La Tana has been there for years. Outstanding quality. You will love it.
Now I’ll go for my run around the Alster.
And Evelyn — please take good care of Mrs Martin so she feels better and can join us tonight.”
Evelyn
“You can rely on me. Enjoy your jogging, Claus.”
She smiled.
Regina stood up, stubbornly placing the forget-me-not flowers into a vase.
“I can take care of myself. I don’t need anyone for that.”
She felt overwhelmed.
Normally she would have reacted faster. Stronger.
But today she wasn’t at her best.
And now Mr. Blohm was joining them for dinner.
Another surprise Regina thought !
Before leaving, Mr Blohm turned around.
“I will pick you up at 7:45 p.m. We’ll take my car. I know the way. See you later. Ciao, Evelyn. Ciao, Mrs Martin.”
The door closed.
Silence.
Sexy Isn’t Enough
Evelyn
“Does he always talk that much and know exactly what he wants?”
Regina
“Super, Evelyn. I’ve always told you — this man talks far too much for a typical man. And now look — because of you, we’re having dinner with him.
I wanted a cozy evening just with you. It’s different when a man is around — especially one you don’t know well.
What do you think about Mr. Blohm?”
Evelyn
“I don’t know yet. But now we’ll find out. First impression? Very good.
Look at what he brought you. The flowers. The tea. The eucalyptus.
The name of the flowers are “Forget-me-nots”. Regina — that says everything. He is really into you.”
Regina
“That may be true. But he’s not my type at all. He didn’t answer my text in Denmark how you know Evleyn. In my opinion, he plays games.
And you know what kind of men I like.
He has light skin and no hair…”
Evelyn
“But he is athletic, tall, has beautiful hands — and a very sexy butt. And he brought all of this for you when you’re sick. That is very thoughtful.
And I could see you looking at his butt.”
Regina sighed.
“Yes. Today I noticed. His butt is very sexy. But you know that’s not what I’m looking for. I want to build a relationship with a man — a future for a lifetime. A sexy body might be exciting, but that’s something for a one-night stand, and I’m not interested in that.”
Evelyn
“Let’s see Regina what else you might discover tonight.”
Whispers Before the Bell Rings
Regina smiled slightly.
“Let’s see. Now we are sharing the evening with Mr. Blohm — and I’m curious to see where this will lead.”
In the meantime, Evelyn prepared a warm bath for Regina and added the eucalyptus that Mr. Blohm had brought.

Evelyn looked at Regina and repeated her words gently.
“That flower bouquet is so meaningful — these flowers mean ‘forget-me-not.’ He really likes you. I can only repeat this to you, Regina — as a true friend.”
Regina
“That is the question Evelyn. Or does he just want sex? A one-night stand?”
Evelyn
“If that were the case, he wouldn’t have invested four months already.
Regina, this man is serious.”
Regina slowly walked toward the bathroom.
“To impress me today, a man needs to make real effort. A small bouquet, a Michelin dinner, handwritten letters — that is not enough anymore for me.”
Evelyn
“Take your bath Regina. Then you’ll think clearer hopefully.”
7:45 p.m.
The doorbell rings.
After four months of back and forth…
Will Mr. Blohm find the way to Mrs. Martin’s heart?
Or will her walls remain stronger than his persistence?
